The Kaikki Foundation will organise different activities and teaching methods and develop trainings that will contribute to the development of children to be authentic, responsible global citizens who have their own individual place and talents and have a well-developed view of the big picture, enabling them to contribute to a peaceful global society. During world exploration the aim is to show that everything is connected with everything, so all the subjects (geography, history, biology, social studies, science and technology, physics and chemistry, care, philosophy and religion) will be offered within a theme. This requires a different approach so that different subjects and aspects of a topic come into their own. Themes will provide knowledge exchange and thereby elevating the academic level within the school as teachers will come on board via their own interests and qualities and by coming together resulting in knowledge sharing which could then become part of the school culture.
Not only the primary school children, but also the teachers, parents and institutions are an important target group for the Kaikki Foundation. By informing the parents of the themes a bond is formed with the school. And so there will be a bigger involvement of the parents with the school and the children experience a natural link between school and home. The entire social environment of the child participates: the whole class, teachers, parents, the institution creating a wave of activity raising the standard.
There is an African proverb:
“It takes a village to raise a child”
